Inauguration of New AVL SET Head Quarters.

Updated: Jun 1, 2022

AVL SET GmbH has inaugurated its new company building in Wangen im Allgäu. AVL SET is a leading provider of inverter test systems in electromobility. The company opening hosted around 170 guests, including those from politics, industry, research and education who celebrated the opening. Among the guests were Prof. Helmut List, Chairman and CEO of AVL, Lord Mayor Michael Lang and District Administrator Harald Sievers. Planning for the new building began in 2020. The modern building, which combines various components, was designed by architect Rainer Girke. The new company headquarters offers space for up to 250 employees, setting the course for further growth.

"This is a major milestone for us as a company, the building illustrates what we stand for: innovation, growth and passion. We finally have enough space to get back together as a team to continue working on our ideas." Said Managing Director Dr. Tobias Schelter.

The opening took place in a festive setting on the newly opened roof terrace. In addition to the new building, the focus was also on the success of AVL SET as a technology leader for inverter test systems. The world market leader for inverter test systems in the e-mobility sector relies on the location cheeks. Since the beginning of May, all employees of AVL SET have been able to enjoy the open and modern work environment on 6,600 square meters of usable space, which was built on the 8,500 square meter property in the Erba site. Three times larger than the previous location.

Offices, laboratories, storage, assembly area and production have enough space spread over three floors. The newly designed project and creative rooms support employees in their innovative and agile brainstorming. Open meeting points enable a quick Exchange and invite to get together - start-up culture meets medium-sized companies. The new company headquarters highlights the 350 square meter roof terrace and the photovoltaic system with an output of 235 kWp, which is mainly used for the infrastructure in new buildings (house consumption and test systems).

In keeping with the company's green priorities, the on-site car park features 18 e-charging stations, which provide AVL SET employees with the necessary support and infrastructure to switch to an electric vehicle.
