Exploring Innovation and Endurance: A Closer Look at Volvo Cars Hällered Proving Ground

Volvo Cars has released a video offering a glimpse of their Hällered Proving Ground- Spanning 16 tracks and 32 km of challenging terrain, this facility pushes every Volvo car to the limit. From high-speed sprints to rough-road durability tests.


Built in 1973, Hällered Proving Ground is vital to Volvo Cars, located 80 km from Gothenburg. It continually tests durability, comfort, performance, and reliability across systems such as powertrain, chassis, steering, active safety, cooling, suspension, shock absorbers, and tires.

The highlight is the High Speed Track - 6200 m high speed track with velodrome curves, enables testing for endurance, function, reliability, performance and durability at speeds up to 200 km/hr without lateral force impact. In addition the proving ground features a graval road, wade pool (Pictured above), durability track (2600 m), two handling tracks, slopes. low friction track, skids, rough road and city course, watch the video to get behind the gates.
